1. Who we are

Japan Local Experience (operated by Hiroba Inc., headed by Hisayoshi "Yoshi" Kioka, established 2015) provides locally-led tour experiences in Tokyo. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you share when you contact us or book a tour through japanlocalexperience.com.

2. What we collect

Information you give us via the contact form:

• Name and email address
• Optional: preferred tour, preferred date, group size
• The content of your message

Information collected automatically:

• Server access logs (IP address, browser type, referrer, timestamp) via our hosting provider, Cloudflare
• We do not set first-party tracking cookies and do not use Google Analytics

3. How we use it

• Reply to your inquiry and arrange your tour
• Confirm and follow up on bookings
• Improve the tour offering based on aggregated, non-identifying patterns in feedback

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising or share it with marketing partners.

4. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted sub-processors:

• Bókun (JTB) — handles tour bookings and payment when you click "Book Now". Bókun's privacy policy applies to data submitted in the booking flow. Bókun privacy notice ↗
• Resend — delivers contact form messages from this site to our inbox. Email content and your address pass through Resend's systems. Resend privacy ↗

• Google Fonts — serves the site's typography. Google may log IPs of font requests. Google privacy ↗
• Instagram (Meta) — the "Follow Our Adventures" section embeds Instagram posts; loading them sets Meta cookies in your browser. Instagram privacy ↗

5. International transfers

Some of our sub-processors are located outside Japan (notably the United States). Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the recipient's standard data-protection terms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers to the EU/UK).

6. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with equivalent rights, you may request to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data
• Receive a portable copy of your data
• Object to or restrict our processing

7. Data retention

Inquiry emails and booking-related correspondence are kept for as long as they remain useful for customer service (typically up to 5 years), unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

8. Children

Our website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted in a banner at the top of the website.
