Shinjuku Food & Drink Night Tour

Eat and drink your way through Shinjuku's three most atmospheric corners — a hidden izakaya in Omoide Yokocho, a standing kushiage bar in Kabukicho, and the legendary Golden Gai — with every dish and every drink included. WHAT WE'LL DO Shinjuku is home to more than 3,000 restaurants and bars, and the best of them are the hardest to walk into on your own: no English menu, eight seats, and a regular crowd. That's exactly where we take you. We start at a top-rated izakaya in Omoide Yokocho ("Memory Lane"), a narrow postwar alley where four local dishes arrive while your guide shares how this little lane survived seven decades of redevelopment. Next we cross into Kabukicho — Japan's most famous entertainment district, safely navigated with a local — for freshly fried kushiage skewers at a lively standing bar. We finish in Golden Gai, a maze of six alleys packed with over 200 tiny bars, where your guide picks the right door and we toast the night with the locals. WHAT'S INCLUDED Four local dishes at the izakaya, four kushiage skewers at the standing bar, and ALL your drinks at all three stops — beer, sake, highballs, or soft drinks. Most guests leave full; there is no "bring extra cash for food" catch. GOOD TO KNOW Solo travelers are very welcome — about a third of our guests join alone, and we never cancel on solo bookings. Non-drinkers are welcome too (soft drinks included everywhere). Vegetarian, pescatarian, and most dietary needs can be arranged — just tell us when you book.

Shinjuku Highlights Walking Tour

Get your bearings in Tokyo's densest district in 90 minutes — Omoide Yokocho, Kabukicho, and the back alleys only locals know — and leave with a personal map of where to eat and drink for the rest of your trip. WHAT WE'LL DO Step out of Shinjuku Station — the busiest in the world — and Tokyo hits you all at once. In 90 minutes, a local shows you how the puzzle fits together: the nostalgic lanes of Omoide Yokocho, the neon of Kabukicho, a quiet shrine nobody notices, and the shortcuts between them. Take it early in your trip: guests consistently tell us our recommendations shaped their whole stay. WHAT'S INCLUDED A guided walk with insider stories and history, plenty of photo stops, and personalized restaurant and bar recommendations for the rest of your time in Tokyo. WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED Just one thing: a 5-yen coin for making a wish at a small shrine on our route. In Japanese, "5 yen" (go-en) sounds exactly like the word for good fortune — we'll tell you the full story on the tour. GOOD TO KNOW About 2.5 km of flat, easy walking. Families and children welcome. Runs rain or shine — Shinjuku's arcades keep it enjoyable in light rain.

Meiji Shrine Morning Walk & Brunch

Walk Meiji Shrine's 100,000-tree sacred forest at its quietest hour with a local guide, learn Shinto etiquette you can use at every shrine afterwards, then sit down to brunch together in Harajuku. WHAT WE'LL DO At 8 a.m., Meiji Shrine is a different world from the afternoon crowds — mist in the trees, gravel underfoot, and locals quietly starting their day with a prayer. Walking it with a local changes what you see: why you bow at the torii gate, what the sake barrels mean, how to purify your hands at the temizuya, and how to make a wish properly. Afterwards we cross into Harajuku — five minutes and a complete change of universe — for a relaxed brunch where you can ask your guide anything about Tokyo. WHAT'S INCLUDED A guided walk through Meiji Shrine's forest and main grounds, Shinto traditions explained simply, and a friendly brunch hangout in Harajuku with personalized tips for the rest of your stay. WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED Brunch is paid directly at the café — budget around 1,000–2,000 yen depending on your order. GOOD TO KNOW Our most peaceful and family-friendly tour: flat, shaded, stroller-friendly. Ideal if jet lag wakes you early anyway. The tour ends in central Harajuku, perfectly placed for your afternoon.

Tsukiji Market Street Food Tour
Tsukiji
Food Lover's Pick

Tsukiji Market Street Food Tour

Graze your way through Tsukiji Outer Market — still Tokyo's greatest food destination with 400+ shops and stalls — guided by a local who knows exactly which queues are worth your appetite. WHAT WE'LL DO When the famous tuna auction moved to Toyosu in 2018, only the inner wholesale market went with it. The outer market — the food stalls and shops that have always fed Tokyo's chefs — kept thriving, and it remains the best street-food morning in the city. The challenge is knowing where to spend your appetite: some hour-long queues are for food that's merely fine, while some unmarked counters serve the best bite in the market. That judgment is what your guide brings, along with ordering help (most stalls have no English menu) and the stories behind the knives, the tamagoyaki, and the families running their stalls for three generations. WHAT'S INCLUDED A guided walk through the market's main lanes and hidden side alleys, your guide's shortlist of stalls actually worth queuing for, and help ordering at every stop. WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED Food and drinks — bring around ¥5,000 in cash per person for a very full morning of tastings (fresh-grilled seafood, tamagoyaki, seasonal fruit, matcha sweets and more). GOOD TO KNOW Come hungry and skip breakfast. Cash is essential — many stalls don't take cards. Vegetarians can eat surprisingly well here (tamagoyaki, grilled mochi, fruit, matcha sweets) — tell us when you book.

Private Custom Tokyo Tour

A fully private day built around your group and nothing else: tell us what you love, we design the itinerary, and one of our English-speaking Tokyo locals guides only you. HOW IT WORKS After you book, we ask about your group, your interests, and anything specific you've dreamed of doing in Tokyo. We draft an itinerary, refine it with you, and on the day your guide handles everything — trains, queues, ordering, reservations — so you just experience the city. Two popular starting points: an east-side classic route (Tsukiji Market, Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo Skytree) for depth on the historical city, or a west-side route (the Shibuya crossing, vintage-shop Shimokitazawa, Shinjuku's alleys) for Tokyo's fashionable, current side. Most guests end up with something in between — that's exactly the point. WHAT'S INCLUDED A custom itinerary designed with you before the day, your own dedicated guide, restaurant recommendations and reservation help, and concierge support before and after the tour day. WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED Meals, attraction tickets, and transport fares — paid as you go, with your guide handling all the logistics. GOOD TO KNOW Ideal for families, groups with mixed interests, special occasions, and travelers with limited time. Fully wheelchair- and stroller-adaptable. Popular weeks fill about a month out — book early.
